This has been a tradition in my family, since the children were little.
We are still enjoying 2008 Cake and celebrating our 65th Anniversary
Nothing compares with your receipt for Deluxe Friut Cake.

My Aunt and Uncle, who live in Texas, send one of your fruitcakes every year to our family. I always turned down fruitcake in the past, but when I tasted your Deluxe Fruitcake, my mind (and tastebuds) changed. It is wonderful and we look forward to having a slice during Christmas season with a hot cup of tea...delicious! The taste and texture of the Deluxe Fruit Cake is absolutely perfect..we love it! Thank you for such a wonderful product and Thank you to my Aunt and Uncle for introducing it to us

I've been looking for a fruitcake and I found this site. After reading through the comments I will order today. I miss my aunts fruitcake, and my aunt. I get to eat the whole thing myself, my friends/coworkers all turn up their noses at the word fruitcake. Let them! I hope its as good as its advertised.

All those fruit cake haters were at my house when I opened my Collins Street fruit cake. It was so pretty they all wanted to sample it. They fell in love with the great taste. I guess all the fruit cake haters need to taste a Collins Street fruit cake. Need I say more?

My first Collins Street Fruitcake arrived today and it is fabulous! I have not tasted one as delicious as this since my grandmother passed away over 20 years ago!

Thank you so much for helping me have a little bit of my own holiday memory with your fruitcake!

While this may have been my first, it will definitely not be my last!

Again, many thanks and Merry Christmas!

I first "met" a Collins Street Deluxe Fruitcake not long after I met my husband, more than 22 years ago.

His family had a tradition of ordering a large Deluxe every December. Every evening, Pops would slice the thinnest slices of fruitcake, and after barely toasting them, serve the slices with a tiny dollop of whipped cream, and a lovely cup of coffee.

My own parents came to love the Deluxe as well, and they began ordering them every December too! My dad passed away in 1990, and my mom continued her Collins Street tradition until she came to stay with us last year.

Now, my husband and I send the 4-cake Mini Sampler to his family every year, (which is a wildly popular gift!) and we keep a Deluxe on hand for us. It rarely lasts to Christmas day, but every evening we will slice the thinnest slices we can... and toast it gently to warm it, and add the little dollop of whipped cream. It is as much a part of our Christmas traditions as our tree!

Thanks for your continued devotion to quality!

GROWING UP IN RURAL MISSISSIPPI MY MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER ALWAYS MADE FRUITCAKES. THEY STARTED EARLY NOVEMBER SO THEY COULD BE WRAPPED AND MOISTENED. HOWEVER, WHEN WE MOVED TO FLORIDA IN 1955, MY MOTHER STARTED PURCHASING FROM COLLINS STREET BAKERY AS SHE HAD NO TIME TO BAKE HOME MADE. WHEN I LEFT HOME FOR COLLEGE IN 1957 I STILL RECEIVED A FRUITCAKE FROM HER FROM YOUR BAKERY. WHEN SHE PASSED AWAY IN 1978, I TEN HADSTO START ORDERING MY OWN AS WELL AS FOR MY IN-LAWS. WE HAVE SENT SO-OO MANY ITEMS OF YOURS TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY OVER THE YEARS THEY ALL ASK WELL BEFORE CHRISTMAS IF THAT'S WHAT WE ARE SENDING.

ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT YOUR FRUITCAKE HAS BEEN ON MY TABLE FOR THE LAST 50 YEARS AS WELL AS A LOT OF YOUR OTHER PRODUCTS.

EVEN MY HAIRDRESSER (WHO VOWED HE HATED FRUITCAKE) REQUESTED ONE FROM ME THIS YEAR. IF THIS IS NOT A GOOD RECOMMENDATION, PLEASE TELL ME WHAT ELSE I CAN SAY.

PS. I DIDN'T KNOW YOU HAD A BLOG LIKE THIS OR I WOULD HAVE WRITTEN BEFORE.

My Mom, may she rest in peace, was a customer since 1995.
She died 5/7/06 and that first Christmas was tough: No Mom, no fruitcake, no banana cake, it seemed to be a day that mearly came and went.
This year in mid December, my husband and I traveled to Houston to visit our daughter. I had received a post card from Collin Street Bakery in Mom's name to our address. I took the card along on the trip and on our way home, we detoured up to Corsicana.
We stopped at the "new" bakery just off 45. What a treat!
The "White House Pastry Chef" was there that day and we sampled delicious apple cinnamon fruitcake.
We also purchased several items to bring home. Cakes, bread, ornaments, and of course several varieties of fruitcake.
On our way out of the bakery, a gentleman stopped and welcomed us to the bakery. He saw we were from Michigan and wished us a safe journey home as well as thanking us for our patronage.
We celebrated Christmas this year with Texas Fruitcake. Each sibling having a favorite. Mine the apple cinnamon. My sister's the pineapple pecan. My husband, the traditionalist, regular deluxe. My brother the apricot pecan. Several friends were able to sample our treats as well and commented on how these cakes turned them onto fruitcake!
All I know is I will continue the tradition my Mom started just a few years ago. Whether I order on-line or visit again in person, I will continue to buy these goods.
Thank you.
